Each province has it's own rules and regulations in Canada. Unlike the States Canada does not have one governing
rule or law that encompasses the whole country. Instead they allow the provinces to control and regulate their own laws
reguarding Service Dogs. This can make things very confusing for people in Canada who are in need of a Service Dog or
people visiting Canada. I will try to post info for each province with links as the information comes to me.
The first link I will give is to one that gives a general explanation as to how each province comes up with their laws:
The Canadian Provinces
As you can see here each province either makes up their laws using the Blind Persons’ Rights Act or Human Rights
Acts. If you look at the bottom of the page I provided a link to it also gives a link to each province and their rules
and regulations. Some of them have yet to be updated. For the ones I know that need to be updated I will provide
the links or the letter to show the updates. Each Province where I could find Service Dog Programs I also provided the
links. If you wish to have your Service Dog Foundation link added to the list please contact me via the contact page
with your foundation information.
